Thurdsay is the BIG day
Jennifer:
I hated, hated hated HATED the prep. I actually told the Dr I thought it was overkill. I had to take two bottles of the phospa stuff and 4 laxative pills (if I remember correctly) and then I couldn't leave the hospital until I had gone to the bathroom!
I slept in a recliner, it made it easier to get up and down. Thankfully, my DH helped alot for the first few weeks. Hang in there honey, everyday will be better and better!
Let us know how you are doing!

My advice would be to pamper yourself the day before your surgery. Get a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, have a cleaning service come in to clean your house, or whatever floats your boat and relaxes YOU!
I would also be sure to take a small fan to the hospital. Keep in mind, no one else in my room thought it was hot, but the annesthia (ms?) or meds or something set me on fire!! I thought I would burn up and my surgery was in Janurary!! The fan & chapstick were my best buddies in the hospital.
When you get home, use a recliner if you can. I didn't have to sleep in mine, but I spent much of my day sitting in it. It really was easier to get up from than the couch or chair. A friend & wls buddy gave me a sport bottle with a freezer "tube" in it. It was great! It kept my Crystal Light cold without melting & diluting the taste.
You're in for a wild ride but it is soooooo worth it!!

Congratulations!! This should be an exciting time for you but one where you need to be ready for anything to happen (not necessarily in a bad way). One thing that I thought was keep your meals light cause once you take that citrate or cleasing thing if you eat heavily you will regret it - or rather your bootee' will regret it!!!
Some people go all out but I don't think (my opinion) that is necessary - it's not like you're not going to eat regular food EVER again - you will just smaller amounts. Some foods you won't be able to tolerate ever - however no one can predict what those foods are - they change for everybody. Just think happy good thoughts, and keep a positive attitude. The Lord is with you - and keep us posted when you are able. God bless. Til you reach the other side!! Ruth
