So yesterday I am having a great day- spend the morning and afternoon witn MIL and SIL, came home to get the hubby and older son (little one was with me already). We went out to eat and then went to Target. I picked out a few items and was just walking into the area with the nightgowns and such and as I was passing this rack of clearance items this women said to me that the bras were nice and she forgot her reading glasses and could not read the sale price. I looked and told her the price and started to move away and she asked me to help her find a certain size for her. I did not think anything of it and started helping her- then she said since the price was so good she would get some for her sister and had me look for another size- she even have me look for a black one in the size she wanted and those were at the bottom of the rack near the floor. I helped her find a total of 4 bras and then she said thank you and left. Something nagged at me and I immediately checked my purse (which was in the buggy and is the reason I feel stupid) I 1st noticed that my phone was missing- it was in a small pocket at the top then I looked for my wallet/change purse was also missing. I went to the front of the store and alerted security and spent 15 minutes watching the door to see if I could see the person- no luck, then another 45 minutes watching security tapes - no luck - we called and cancelled the debit card 1st then the xredit card - when we called them, someone had already tried to use the card!! Thank goodness it was maxed out and they could not use it. All they ended up getting was $20 cash and my liscense, insurance card and the cards we cancelled and the brand new $230 phone I got for Valentines day- Ladies watch your purse every second and beware if someone seems to be distracting you or overly friendly. I sure learned a lesson and will have to take a day off to replace all my cards !!! Terri

Terri, I'm so sorry to hear about the robbery. You are not stupid. You are a good hearted person trying to help someone. It's an evil person who takes advantage of the goodness of others to commit a crime. Thanks for alerting us all. Rhonda

I'm sorry this happened to you - and thanks for the warning - but sometimes that happens when we try to help someone. It's sad that we have to be so - to ourselves and sometimes unfriendly - because of things like this that happen. Take care.

I'm sorry that you got scamed. Its not your fault. I am the type that like to help other people out and I'm sure a lot of you out there do,and its people like this that make us uneasy to help strangers out. Dont worry she will get her's one day. The GOLDEN RULE IN THE BIBLE SAYS "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND" And I believe it! I once was waiting for my husband to come home from work,it was around 11:30pm.I was home alone and someone knock at my door and when I answered it I saw a female asking me if she could use the phone, when I open the door she saw that I had a bunch of tatoos and that I was a big chick( i'm gratefull for that atleast) she started to stutter and said that she was lost and wanted to use the phone because she was looking for a certain street, which was the next street over,I got suspecious because I saw that she was riding a bike and she had left it on the sidewalk 1) it was 11:30pm at night and 2) she was a female, why would she leave her bike out in the sidewalk left unattended and she had mention that she was riding for awhile looking for the street when it was the next block over,The streets here are'nt very long. And if she was alone why would she just stop at anybody's house and ask for the phone. So I didnt smile(i'm usually very smiley and I said with a ganster voice"well let me see if my ol'man is on the phone! and then I said SMOKY there is someone out here that would like to use the phone,I came back out and said that he was still on the phone and she left. I got kinda nervous and lock the door and turned on all the T.V's in my apartment and turned on the lights. She never came back.Sorry so long but these are all scams and we need to just be aware and fight back, not with fear but with anger.People work hard for what they have and to have a dummy come and try to steal it all away! NO WAY! I'm pretty sure that there was someone out hiding in the bushes waiting to either bust in or if no one was there they probably would've broke in. Maybe if an older lady would've answered the door they could've hurt her.Who know what could've happen that night. Hugs & 's Rosie

I am sorry this happened to you. Chances are they will never know who did it. Just remember to check your credit report regularly. Because this person got all of your information, they may try to steal your identity. You might want to call the credit reporting companies and have your credit report flagged -- so that they verify anyone trying to get credit in your name is in fact you. You may also need to go ahead a file a police report. Just in case something comes up later as a result of this -- you have covered yourself.

I did get a police report so I have that at least and it is a good idea to check the credit reports - thanks for your concern! Terri
