Laurie, There are some great scooter rental places in the area that will deliver to your hotel and pick up. I used them 2 times pre-op and once a few weeks post op- shoot me an email if you are interested. Terri

sigh ... i have had some weight regain and am trying reallllllllllllllllly hard to get back on track .. i have made a commitment to drive to ft lauderdale once a week (my surgeon is there .. i'm in tampa) to participate in a support group, but perhaps this conference is just what i need ... i don't know anyone from this board personally but then again that's not important since wls'ers are like one big, happy (and yes, sometimes dysfunctional) family ... so add one more to the party ... i don't know when or where yet, so please be sure to post details on this thread or email me :::snatches Lynda's crown::: noooo ... i am the Priceline Queen .. i wonder how hotels make money these days and why in the hell people pay full price for lodging ... my GREATEST deal yet was the wyndham resort on miami beach .. the rooms START at $269 ... i paid $75! priceline ... gotta love it! Linda, I'm so glad that you are coming! I really believe that one of the keys in this journey is support groups. I know this convention will get you motivated. Linda--So glad you are gonna join us. We are practically neighbors. Actually, I took a minute to read your profile and I like you already. Like that matters. I will definitely make sure to keep you informed of any and all plans. Re Priceline--my hubby travels to Boston every weeks and I usually make his reservations on Priceline. He has been able to earn Platinum status (or something like that) with Hyatt. He checked in once and they were upgrading him--he ended up with the presidential suite at the Hyatt in downtown Boston--top floor--over 2000 sq ft--for my $65. bid. How cool is that? The only thing wrong with that picture is that I didn't get to enjoy it. The website I usually get my bidding information from is down from hackers--maybe Priceline paid them. That is why I haven't bid on anything yet. So--no--I am NOT giving up my crown. Look forward to meeting you in person.

Hi Lynda, Chuluota is 5mins out of Oviedo, and Oviedo is 10mins from Orlando.. Thats ofcourse taking the 417... Thank you, I havent updated my profile in along time. Hi Lynda, Great minds think alike! I was actually considering posting this on the main message board to see who was planning on attending. I'm glad you posted here. I am looking forward to meeting everyone. About 20 of us from my support group are planning on going to the conference. A few of us, including myself, are voluntering beforehand to set up and help w/registration. That is when I am hoping to meet a lot of you. I am mostly a lurker, but have posted a few times on the Main Messageboard. I feel like I know soooooo many of you by reading your posts and profiles. And now have the opportunity to actually meet many of you face to face. I haven't made any plans to stay overnight because I don't live too far away. I may do City Walk Fri. evening and if not, most likely I will on Sat. night. I'm playing everything by ear. Either way I know fun will be had and lots of memories too! I need to check w/hubby, but I have a guest room w/a queen sized bed and a grandkids room w/a full sized footon and twin upper bunk combo (and a crib for a really tiny,short, petite person..... )w/a Brady Bunch style adjoining bathroom. I live in a good neighborhood and about 20-30mins. from Universal. If there are those *****ally can't swing finances, I would be blessed and honored to host a few of you at "NO" charge! I can't believe you are about my age and have granchildren--not just babies either. Who did your plastic surgery. I am just now getting to that point, in fact I am going to a consultation on the 23rd right before I go to Orlando. Even though I had my Lap RNY before you. I take things slowly. That is a wonderful offer to host people at your home. I love those Brady Bunch style baths--Jack and Jill--right? I wish I had put one in my house here. Can't wait to firm up the details.
