question about throat?

I am close to 6 months out and I woke up this morning with a funny sensation in my throat. I feels like there is something stuck in there or possible closing up. It doesn't hurt, it's just an annoyance. I took Benedryl to see if it was an allergy but didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Tricia

Tricia, Does it feel sort of like you're swallowing around a "lump", like something is "stuck" in your throat? If so, I had the same thing a few weeks ago. The surgeon thought I'd done something to irritate a spot on my throat. He speculates that I had a pill begin to disolve before it hit my pouch and that irritated my throat. He put me back on a liquid diet for 2 days, then progess through soft foods and back to regular foods in another 2 days. It cleared up quickly and I felt fine. If it continues to bother you, call your doctor. I waited almost a week and it only got worse. I should have called the doc sooner. Good luck! Vickie J.
