Question of the day...
SO! Hows your LOOOONG weekend going? I hope you are enjoying it and getting some R&R.
We had 2 couples over Sunday evening for dinner and games and had a really good time.
What was your first job and how old were you?
Well I was 13 y/o. I was a nanny to two children 2 and 5 y/o. This is while we lived in Canada and I was homeschooled so I just took my school work with me.
My first "out in the world job" was working at Long John's Silver Seafood as a cashier and sometimes I cooked too. That was at age 16.
Have a great rest of your long weekend!

I was 15 and worked at a Diary Queen for $.90 an hour. My sister and I worked together. My Mother made us change in the utility room when we got home, she said we smelled like a french fry. Needless to say we did not last very long. Actually it was a very good experience. After working at that job I was even more determined to go to college.
This is telling my age. I worked at Sambo's. (Now a Village Inn). I was 16 and you had to be 18 to work grave yard, everyone was required to work 1 a week so no one had to do it every night. I lied about my age to get that job and it was interesting to say the least. But thats part of my learning experience and taught me patience which I use everyday...

We are so busy this weekend
On top of getting ready to leave for NY tomorrow, we have to move stuff around the house. The area of the house where my husband and I sleep and relax has been deemed unsafe from the sinkhole. We have been dealing with this sinkhole for a year now. Sorry for the tiny vent.
When I was 10 or 11, I worked for a lady that came to a cabin on the lake that we lived on. She had a young daughter and I would go over and play with her and watch her too make sure she didn't fall in the lake or wander off. I learned how to swim at 18 months and I knew the woods like the back of my hand. I made a few bucks...so I could go to town to the drugstore and buy make up.

My first job was when I was 15 years old I think. It was a summertime job. I worked as a janitor's assistant at the local high school. One day, I had to clean the bleechers. As I was walking up the bleechers with a bucket of sudsy water, the bleechers moved and clamped the bottom half of my legs. I fell backwards and my legs were clamped until someone came and moved the bleechers.
Thankfully no legs were broke, but badly bruised. The odd thing about it is this, no hair grows on that part of my legs anymore!

My sister and I had a paper route. Then I worked at Taco Bell when I was in high school...I was a cashier...Goddess of the Register is what I put on my name tag one day. I knew more about them than the managers. I was often put on drive-thru because I kick'd butt on it. Typically I worked 4-10 after school, but the day person got off at 3:00 and someone else came it but they would only leave them on until I got there. Sometimes I just wanted to work the "line" (food prep), but they wanted me on the drive-thru because I could usually run it and help "stuff" (adding the cold toppings) at the same time.
