I've got my date!!
Thanks so much the words of encouragement, Sallykate. I just read through your profile and I can't believe the insurance headaches you've had. I am glad you are not giving up though. You sound like me in how you approach your health with your doctors. I would have left the first PCP too if he or one of his staff treated me the way you were treated. I always remind myself that I am their employer, they work for me...I pay their salary, so they better treat me like I matter, because frankly, I do.
I'll keep reading your profile and posts...love the question of the day...and I'll keep you posted on me too. It would be great if we were having surgery around the same time. I'll keep you in my prayers for that to happen.
Blessed be,
Lori
Ooooooh Lori!!!!!! I'm so glad!!! Oh my God!!! That is so great!!! Congratulations!! I'm so excited for you. The summer will go by quickly and you will be getting ready in no time. Everything you mentioned is exactly what you need to do per Dr. Overcash's instructions. If you have someone staying with you at the hospital they have a fold out bed from the chair in the room. You won't need much in the hospital, but do pack the lip balm. Your lips will get dry cause you will have the nasogastric tube in for those 2 1/2 days. I brought underclothes and a house coat and that's all I needed. Do repost as the date gets closer. Congratulations again.
Hi Ruth,
Y know what was so funny...yesterday, I was at Walgreens looking for the pHisoderm. My mom use to use it when I was a kid. I kept looking for the round green bottle that I remembered. Well, I didn't think it has been more then 20 years since I saw that particular bottle and when I finally asked if they sold it, the girl took me right to it. Only it wasn't in a round green bottle anymore.
I had to laugh at myself. Advertising changes all the time and I just didn't think of that. It is now in a white bottle simular to the liquid soap bottle with green writing on it. I just laughed and laughed at my silly, little self.
Have a great weekend and thanks for the support!!!
Lori
Congratulations Lori! I am excited for you.
I have a question. My husband and I are also using Dr. Overcash for the surgery but we are just waiting on insurance approval at the moment. Did they give you the Aug.3rd date because they were booked until then or was that a more convenient time for you? The reason I ask is that I was hoping my husband and I would be in surgery (once we get our approval) by the end of June or July and Aug. just seems like a loooooong time to wait.
Thank you for your help.
Darla
Hi Darla,
Because of my work, my boss asked that I not be off during July because we are a 2 person office and team. I requested that date, because it was the earliest after July I could get. I didn't ask for sooner because I thought that if I had it in June and the time frame would lead me into having to be off for the first or second week of July.
They are pretty flexiable, but I didn't ask for sooner so I don't know how booked up Dr. O is. Hope this helps.
