I was thinking about something i posted today in someones question and think about it.. ... this surgery is a tool.. my insurance company has a requirement pre op.. and they are the following.. 1. Take gastic bypass classes for one year. 2. You must lose 10% of your body weight or you will have to continue the classes until you do. 3. Exercise on a daily basis and keep track. 4. Keep track of your daily eating habits. 5. KNOW THIS SURGERY IS A TOOL NOT A CURE. I was angry at first but there right with everything... just my 2 cents... I HAVE TO WAKE UP AND DEAL WITH MY WEIGHT .. ITS A PROBLEM AND I HAVE TO FIX IT SO THAT WHEN I HAVE THIS SURGERY I WILL USE THE TOOL WELL....

Emily, I think you are very wise! I was reading someone's profile the other day. They had been to a support group and there was a women there who had lost over 200 pounds but then gained back 200 pounds. The surgery isn't a magic pill...you are right, it's a tool. We still have to "fix" our heads! I work on that daily. Thanks for reminding me. Rhonda
