Need assistnace in finding a good Dr. In Orlando

Hi all: New to this. Just beginning to learn about the surgery. Any advice anyone can give, would be welcomed. I am in need of a good Dr. I live in Orlando..can anyone recommend a good dr. Tracey

Hi there neighbor, I live in Ocoee also (Coventry). I recently had surgery with Dr. Kim in Celebration on Feb. 22. Dr. Kim and his staff are wonderful. Tracey, Every Wednesday night US Bariatric at Celebration Health has an information session on gastric bypass surgery. You might want to check it out. After checking out two surgeons in Ocala I chose, Dr. Keith Kim, the surgeon at US Bariatric in Celebration to perform my gastric bypass. I've been very very happy with Dr. Kim and the entire USB staff. Good luck on your search. It's important to choose someone that you're comfortable with. Rhonda

Tracey, There arent any surgeons in Orlando, but Dr. Kim is in Kissimmee (Celebration) and Jawad and Overcash are in Ocala. There is a sugeon in Melbourne, but I think his surgeries are on hold right now (heard that from a friend who had surgery with him). Anyway, do your research, go to info sessions and some support group meetings then make your decision. Good luck! Amy -176lb.

Dr. Brient in Gainesville is a great surgeon! (Of course I'm biased) I know he has lots of patients from Orlando (after talking to quite a few in the waiting room). Just another option Hugs Kim

Dr. Kim at US Bariatric, 400 Celebration Place. Best just attend an informational seminar held every Wednesday at 6pm, 1st floor Florida Hospital Celebration Health. Make the drive to Jupiter and go to Dr. Jefferson Vaughan! I heard the same about the man in Melbourne, please steer clear of him for now!

My 2 cents is Dr Jawad. He did my surgery on the 9th. His stats compared to the national avg are superb, and he is very caring about his paitents. Tho i am biased too. good luck on your choice. pre-op 604lbs 2 week check up 569lbs
