April, I have my sleep test done on wednesday. My doc told me it was to see if you have sleep apnea. So they would know in advance what kind of care to give u during surgery. For instance if you need to be hooked up to a cpap during surgery. I dont know of any other reason myself. Good Luck to ya.

Hi April, well the pulmologist will ask you a few questions, listen to you breath via a stethscope and you'll breathe into a machine to check your lung capacity. Its nothing big at all. Its fast and easy. However, don't go if you're having asthma symptoms or trouble breathing. Either take your medication or reschedual. This is not a test you want to fail. Its done to make sure you'll have enough lung capacity to see you thru surgery and afterwards.
