Jacksonville,Florida Support Groups

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am desperately in need of joining a support group and not sure where to start. Any info would be helpful. Thank you so much in advance. -Susan

Susan, We did have one that met once a month at the Orange Park Mall- It was run by Erica Lyons but I think that she is no longer leading it. You may want to send her an email (from this site) to see what is happening with it. I was never able to go but now that I am 2 months out and feeling great, I'd love to start going. Let me know what you find out. Ypu can always email me and we can exchange numbers and perhaps meet up- what side of town are you on? Thanks Terri

Hey Terri, thanks for the info, I will see what I can find out. I am over in Mandarin. It has been over a year since my VBG and I am struggling getting this weight off. there is a support group meeting at memorial hospital at 7:00 on the first tuesday of every month.

yes I do go. My dr. yasrebi is the one who holds the meeting. they have post ops who talk about there experiences they explain the surgery to people who are just in the research stage and he will answer any questions. Have you already had surgery and if so who is your dr?

Susan, LTNS! Hope you can find a group in your area. Our M&Gs in Altamonte continue to draw a small group every other month, maybe you can join us at the next one...bring your daughter and hang out for a while, get a lil shopping in and catch up, we would love to see you again. Hi. My doc's marketing rep,Christeena Menzer does a support group in Jacksonville on 2 or 3rd Saturdays, 10 am. The group is not only for our doc but any pre-op or post-op.
