Just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I have been lurking on this board for about a year and a half now while preparing for surgery. After completing all my pre testing and going through the normal insurance company run around...sorry you have to have a 6 months supervised diet, OK (delay) here it is. Oh Sorry now WLS is excluded from your policy as of 1/1/05, I finally said the heck with it, I will self pay as I am not getting any better playing appeal games with them. I am a diabetic on insulin and have plenty of other co-morbities and I will not delay this another six months or a year. Well....my surgery is tomorrow morning and I am ready to go! I cant thank all of you guys enough out there, reading your posts twice a day and learning as much as possible from all your experiences. I think I have scoured through everyone's profiles and read each one...sometimes to the point of tears. As soon as I get back home hopefully Tuesday night, I'll post and let you all know how I made out. Then perhaps I can get a proper profile going so everyone can read mine as well. Again, thanks to all for being there.... Ken

Well Ken I would like to say congrats on yor decision to have surgery. myself I just got approved last week and I am scheduled to have surgery on june 9th... but I just wanted to wish you the best of luck with yor surgery and getting healthy... that was partly why I decided to have surgery I dont have diabetes yet but my mom does along with many other complications and she had surgery 3 years ago and is no longer on insulin and also no longer having high blood pressure, so i hope that with the surgery and the great weight loss you will have you will also no longer have the need for insulin.... congrats and best of luck with everything *** Jennifer
