Medicaid Backed United Healthcare HELP!

Hey all, my friend is really in need of WLS, but she has Medicaid backed United Healthcare. Does anyone know of a surgeon in Florida anywhere that accepts this for WLS? Any information would be greatly appriciated as I have already checked with my Dr. and he doesn't. Thanks! Tammy

Dr. Samuel Cox in Fort lauderdale. His office is off of Commercial Blvd. I will get the number and post back. Performs the surgery at Holy Cross Hospital and North Ridge in Fort lauderdale. Good Luck.

Hi, How do you get medicaid back up with united healthcare. I have Medicaid and would like to know more. thanks for any info. I always wonder if Medicaid covered it at all .

Hi there, Thanks for the info about Dr. Cox. He sounds absolutely wonderful! My friend has been in contact with him and will probably be starting the process soon. I believe in order to get United Backed or Medpass, you have to call up your medicaid office and have them change your group number to reflect that it is United or Medpass backed. From what she told me, it's pretty easy to do. BTW, She is changing hers to Medpass because Dr. Cox doesn't accept the United backed, but does accept Medpass. Thanks! Tammy
