Any surgury buddies out there in the Tampabay area

As I get closer to my surgury (i have gone to dictation) and seem to be loosing support from my friends. i had a surgury buddie to be with me the day of the surgury but he has bowed out. He got a new job and cant take the time off. I understand but it still doent make me comfortable I am going to be in the hospital by myself. Is there a support group that thinks of things like this. i work nights so am not able to get to the support groups at Tampa General Hosp. I am feeling a little blue sitting here at work and thinking about the surgury. i am going to do this even if i have to go ti alone but i can hope i find a few friends along the way to talk to or ask questions of that are close by. I do talk everynight to people on (www)thinnertimes.com but most of them are in california. Any body out there need a friend or want to be a friend. thanks cj pre op (368/372/186)

CJ, I think I can speak for most of us on this board, that we are here to support you. I don't know if anyone lives near clearwater, but if they do I am sure they will contact you and try to visit you. If not...then we are your support. Remember CJ you are doing this for yourself. Be sure to do what the doc says pre-op and educate yourself on the surgery so you won't be worried. Prayer is a powerful thing, and I'll be praying for you. Question, at the end of your post, are the numbers where your goals are set at? Blessings, Tami

Hi Cj, I can be your internet buddy for right now if you would like...I live just north of Tarpon Springs....I can not promise I can get to the hospital to see you when you are there but I sure can try...I am a single parent of 4 kids.....well lets say 3 now cause the oldest is graduating school next week then moving in with his dad...so I can never schedule anything it is always more last minute to see if I can get someone to watch the children....if you would like to become email friends please let me know....when is your surgery?? do you have a solid date yet?...well take care and hope to hear from you..have a great rest of the week!!!! Hi Clinton, I am new to Florida and looked up your city on the map and am at a totally different part of the state. Being new, I'd love to make new friends in the area, and outside of the northwest part of Florida. I am on here often...wish they actually had live chat times here...would be nice. I had a bestfriend that backed out on a major surgery before and it is frustration...she didn't really have any excuse. Keep your thoughts in perspective... Congratulations onstarting your new life - that is the first big step. Unfortunately I'm an hr and something away but if you have any questions, email me. I'd be glad to help in anyway I can. I know it's hard and it's bummed that your friend and I know you'd rather have someone there. You don't have any work friend's that can check up on you?
