Aetna denied me

Hi guys, Yup they waited til the 29th day to call my surgeon's office and tell them I am denied. Shirley (insurance coordinator) noticed that the Aetna nurse keyed the wrong code and so the nurse resubmitted the right code about an hour ago. I could use your prayers again as the same doc will look it over and make a decision. The denial was due to diet and nutrition info. and that is all they said. I will get a letter from them explaining it and they will not ellme anything else. I do not know what is wrong becaue I did the 6 month physician supervised diet and sent in the records from the doc.?? Needless to say, I am frustrated and irritated with Aetna! BUT I will not QUIT!! I will have my surgery and they WILL PAY for it! Thanx for listening guys Sallykate

I am so sorry Sallykate! Lately it seems that every post I read has people getting approved quickly and talking about things moving quickly. But I have now been waiting over 4 months. (I did a 3 month supervised weight loss thing). And it seems like things are moving like molasses. Hang in there. Fight for it if you must! I wouldn't take the first no and pay for it myself. Fight them. They sometimes say no at first hoping you will drop it! Good luck!

Aetna is very picky, but if you give them exactly what they want, they will approve you. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the correct number works for you and that they accept your nutritional information! Jan
