Surgeon needed near Melbourne that accepts Staywell/medicaid

Hi, everyone. I have a friend who desperately needs Gastric Bypass, and is trying to find a surgeon near to Melbourne to do it. She has two small children, and her husband is working in another state, so she really needs something relatively close by so that she can make it to her appt's and support group meetings. Right now, she can't even find a surgeon who accepts Staywell/medicaid.....let alone someone close by. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help! I do not believe there are any doctors doing WLS surgery in the Melbourne area any more. Dr. Tenewitz was doing WLS in Melbourne but the last I heard he was no longer doing WLS. I have heard that Dr. Cox in Ft. Lauderdale accepts medicaid, but I do not know about Staywell. It would be worth a call however to see if he does.

Hi, I live in the daytona area and have healthease/medicaid.....no drs on the east coast takes it so I went to Dr. Rehnke in St. Pete. I would highly recommend him, I had my surgery in sept and i'm down 113 lbs. I had to attend 2 of his support group/seminars before surgery but haven't been to any since....I attend the ones here in daytona at the hospital. Any questions feel free to contact me.
