Emergency Help Needed
What are the specifics of her clause? If you read the coverage portion of my insurance policy, it stated WLS was not covered.
However, when you read the exclusion portion it said WLS was covered with a diagnosis of morbid obesity. Don't go by what you've heard on here or what the insurance said when you called, get a copy of the policy and read it so you know what you are dealing with.
Does your sister qualify for Medicare since she's going to be wheelchair bound? Maybe they can help if she has it. I'd call Vocational Rehab as well, although I've heard that process can take about a year.
One thing you might consider since your sister doesn't have a lot of time to wait for surgery, contact a lawyer that specializes in obesity law and see if her exclusion is iron clad.
Good luck to your sister, please keep us posted.

I will keep you all in my prayers. I ask you to not give up. Get letters from her doctors, as many as you can. Find a lawyer that specializes in Obesity Law. I was told my insurance would not cover not even by the by "That Cause" but after I had all my doctors write letters and the WL Surgeon turned everything in. I was OK'd First time out. DO NOT give up. Also check into Voc. Rehab.
