Hi fellow Floridians... Ready for the new week? Smart food choices here we come. Have a blessed week guys... Remember the question that grown-ups always asked us when we were little? "What do you want to be when you grow up?" What was your answer? I remember when I was about 4-6 I wanted to be a cashier at the grocery store. I wanted to push all those buttons. Then when I hit 6y/o I decided that I wanted to grow up and be a pastor's wife... afterall that's what my mom was. Then I decided to be a person that studies dreams... while being a pastor's wife. When I got older I had more mature dreams of course but lo and behold... I am a pastor's wife!! LOL Sallykate

I remember going to the Maas Brothers Department Store in downtown Tampa when I was a little girl. I loved riding in the elevator. Back in those days there was an elevator attendent that wore white gloves and she would sort of move or swing this big handle and announce each floor as we got to it, and then open the doors. First she would open like a metal grate and then the she would open a solid outer door and say "watch your step". Sometimes when her aim was off we would have to sort of start and stop till she got it lined up just right. I thought that was really a neat job. Many years later I did get to work in that store. It was one Christmas while I was in college -- but I did not get to run the elevator.

My dad was in the Navy and I remember when I was little I would always see the tug boats come in and then low and behold his ship. I would be so excited and decided that I would be a tug boat captain so I could bring the daddies home. Well I joined the Army and became a Veterinary Technician...but...I did marry a sailor of my own and still love when I see those tug boats

I always wanted to be a nurse, and although that never happened, I've worked in healthcare for over 30 years and many people mistake me for being a nurse because of the job I have. Jan

Well, when I was little, I wanted to be a vet and that grew into wanting to become a vet for ocean animals, which developed into a desire to treat and care for sharks primarily. I did finish my BS in marine biology, however I never became a vet. While in college, I wanted to change and become a doctor but I got involved with firefighting while I was taking my first college break in three years. I never did start medical school even through I tested and got accepted at univ. of miami. Instead I became a firefighter, followed by an EMT (Emergency Medical Tech) continued my education to become a Paramedic and now I'm working on advancing to flight-paramedic (fixed wing only because of my weight) and becoming an instructior/teacher for what I've learned over the last decade.

When I was in elementary school I wanted to be a teacher just like my 2nd grade teacher named Mrs. Salisbury! I still remember her name and everything because I wanted to be just like her. All the kids loved her, she always smelled like flowers and she always dressed so pretty. When I was in junior high school, we toured the local newspaper and I got hooked on journalism, which I've been doing for the last 20+ years since high school. I am also a paralegal, but now I'm going to a technical school to learn medical coding and billing. Great question!!! ~ Trish

I am still the same as when I was little, I changed my mind every year. In elementary I told everyone i was going to be a doctor or an orthodontist. In middle school I was going to be a lawyer, that would eventually be a judge. In highschool I was going to be a fashion designer and design clothes for "larger" women that were actually cute. Then my first year of college I was going to be an Architect. My second year I was going to be a doctor again. Now, in my third year (PreMed) I am debating on whether I should continue on and be a doctor of medicine, or go to a dental college and be a Cosmetic Dentist. Hmm...I could just be a professional student forever...LOL -Phoenix 287/229/150
