High Blood Pressure
Hi Rhonda
I'm a little different than you in that I had really high blood pressure pre-op and I'm still (almost 5 months out) taking two blood pressure pills per day (Benicar and Aldactone) to keep it normal.
If I don't drink enough fluids, my body will retain water which will cause blood pressure to rise. Make sure you are drinking all your water! Low protein and low potassium levels can cause elevated blood pressure as well. Too much salt, things like that contribute also.
I had hoped I would be able to dump my HBP meds but it won't happen anytime soon. Good luck, I hope you BP comes down.

Hello I'm ALMOST 1 year out and I got where I was having High blood pressure and it was because I was eating Foods that had too much SALT like pork skins... I loved them things and WAS eating alot of them... But not no more.. And since I stoped them the high blood pressure went away... Maybe this will help you.. Maybe check the salt in your food your eating... GOOD LUCK to you....

Thanks for the ideas.
I eat 80 grams of protein a day and I've been averaging 100oz of water. I also don't eat salt or salty foods.
I've done everything my doctor has told me to do including exercising 5X a week.
It's just so frustrating that I have high blood pressure NOW! After surgery and losing weight! However, I'm grateful for medication to regulate my BP and like so many things in life, this too shall pass.
