orlando area.....

Just reaching out to all of you. I am looking to meet new friends in the orlando area that are supportive and understand what I have been threw with this surg. I was hoping that maybe some of us could meet and go shopping and have lunch? what do you think? heather

Hi heather, I think we had the same doctor. Dr. Overcash? I had my surgery in January. I know what you mean about needing to know people who have gone through this. I have found that to be one of the hardest things, talking to people and having them not really understand. I am at the point now where I would like to go out and meet people, I kind of was a wallflower for along long time, I am now coming out of my shell. Feel free to email me at [email protected]. Jenn

Hey heather - im single (and have time) to meet..in fact I have my disney pass (i get a pass fo a couple of months) and i just got my universal studios letter. Which means I can go to the parks with one guest for free. I have a personal training session at 11am-12pm on saturdays so if you're interested in wanting to go to any of the parks - let me know!! We can go at noonish any saturday. This will be the first time going back to the parks where I will see if I fit in the seats (i know i will!!)...so let me know if you're up to some walking and riding on some rides!! Whoohooo...

Heather, In the past, several of us (Tracey, ViVi, Marta, Chazlin and myself) from this board have met for lunch during the week. Does your schedule allow you to get away on a week day? We've met in Altamonte, Maitland, W.P. and Lake Mary to catch up and compare notes. Maybe we could do that again soon? Heather, I live too far away to meet up, but every other month a bunch of WLS folk from the area meet at the Altamonte Springs Mall for a while. It's usually noon til around 4 p.m. I realize you probably want to meet someone NOW, but this is just another activity you could plan for if you like! Thank you...I would also like to meet others that have had WLS. I chose not to share with people that I had surgery...only family and close friends know (most live in NYC and NJ). It would be wonderful to have allies/friends who are on a similar journey...so many exciting changes...a few difficult (e.g. hair loss). I live in Longwood...work in Lake Mary. I work 8-5 M-F so I'm usually available evenings or weekends. Any of you who have posted ... feel free to email me. Dee

I live in the MetroWest/Kirkman Road area but can get whereever I need to go as long as I schedule a day or two in advance so I can take my husband Omar to work so I can have the car.
