looking for Dr. with Gym

Good Morning everyone! I am writing from Niagara Falls and I have a friend that recently moved to Fl and does not have a computer (imagine that). She is in the Orlando area and is looking for a Bariatric surgeon to help her with post op care (she is 18 months out and down 130). SHe needs someone to prescribe the necessary blood work and she would also like one that has a gym with their practice. Our Dr. up here had one and it was her lifeline to other "barries". Dr Keith Kim is with US Bariatric, and is located at Florida Hospital Celebration Health. They have an entire fitness center, pool, etc. Not sure about membership prices, though, since it is separate. Dr. Kim's phone number is 407.303.4504 ext. 1. Kristen

I believe that Dr. Kim (US Bariatrics) will charge a $1000 program fee if they take on a post-op patient, but I might be wrong about that. I just recall a friend was told that she would have to pay that fee to be seen when she relocated here from NC. There aren't any other surgeons in Orlando, but there are some within an hour of Orlando in Ocala and Melbourne. There are also doctors in Gainesville and Jax. She should ask her surgeon who they might recommend. Good luck to your friend! Amy

There is another bariatric surgeon here in the Orlando area -- although he does his bariatric surgery in St. Petersburg. It is Dr. Lou C. Harold MD, 407-839-3700. I do not know if he has a gym. He is listed with the ASBS and I know he has had a general surgery practice in Orlando for some time.
