kinda bummed

i found out i have to pay $2500 up front to the dr. it might not be much to some,but i really don't have it and don't think i can come up with it.does any one know if another dr. in naples does the wls besides dr.liberman.the ins. i have will not pay any money up front,i'm not cheap just single and barley making it.too bad i can't use my 401k. i'm pretty sure i can't.any helpful hints??good luck to all.and enjoy life..Diana

Talk to your HR. I was going to use my 401k when insurance came through. I am pretty sure you can do it for medical expenses. Kristen

I would check around. Some doctors charge very high "program" fees, others charge more reasonable "program" fees, and there are some out there (bless their hearts) that charge no program fees. In any case find out exactly what you are paying for. Also, is it an up front fee -- that will be refunded to you once your insurance pays or is it a program fee that you will never see again.

How far are you from Jupiter, FLorida? My Doctor does not charge anything up front. His name is Dr. Jefferson Vaughan and his website is surgicalweightcontrol.com I drove ALL the way from Tampa for him to do my surgery....why? cause he is the BEST! Take care and good luck Terese -130 8-19-03

Hi Dianna Also check the surgeons at miamihope.com (put the www. in front of that), they don't have program fees. The only up front charges are if you are a cash patient, or if your insurance doesn't cover certain kinds of surgical visits. Good luck!! Keep us posted on your progress. ~ Trish
