I've heard so many people on this site talking about fitday.com so I decided to go and try it. I was SHOCKED at how many carbs per day I am eating as a 3-month post op. If you haven't tried fitday.com yet, go enter just the foods you ate yesterday and see how good the food choices you are making now are. I'm only getting in around 1,000 calories, but man, I'm getting 54% carbs and only 11% protein. No wonder I feel bloated and feel like I'm not losing anymore!

I've been using Fitday since surgery and it's just wonderful for tracking food, weight, moods and whatever!! If you're only getting 11% protein, then you're not getting in nearly enough!! WOW! Jan

I thought I was getting in more than 11%, but I'm not. I didn't realize how little I was getting, I've replenished the protein shake drawer in my fridge and am making a concentrated effort to get in more protein. If I have to choke them down. I don't tolerate the shakes very well. ~ Trish

Trish, I've been using FitDay since surgery and love it! I'm always amazed at how much fat I consume per day but since my doc isn't a fan of protein shakes he wants us to get out protein from food. So.... I eat 1 - 2 oz. of meat 3 times a day and there is always some fat in meats, especially beef. Since it sounds like you're really low on protein but don't care for the shakes, try Carb Countdown 2% Reduced Fat Chocolate Milk. 1 cup has 100 calories but something like 12 or 14 g. protein, and it tastes pretty good, too. Also, if you can tolerate meat, up your meat intake. I've found those Hormel Marinated Pork Tenderloins give you a good bit of protein w/out so much fat. We really like the Terriyaki (ms?) but there are other flavors you might like better. I also buy Boar's Head Black Forest Smoked deli ham. 2 oz. has 10 g. protein, 60 calories but only 1g. fat so it is another good choice. Hang in there! This is a learning experience for all of us new post-ops!! Vickie J.

Could you have looked at it wrong? Perhaps the carbs were the protein. Go back and check again. BTW, what did you eat that day. Perhaps we can look at it together. Marla
