Tired of all of these tests..

I have been having nothing but tests for about a month now...like so many of you; I know that you know what my calendar looks like. Just yesterday I traveled down to Miami and had a chest x-ray, cat scan of the brain with differentials (dye), ekg, and labs, tomorrow I go back to Miami for my dreaded psych eval, and then on Wednesday back to Miami for the stress test and ree test..., next week its all local; pulmonary, and then colonoscopy, following week my own psychiatrist (not ordered by surgeon), back to Miami to see an ortho doc, and then on Thursday to have endoscopy...my insurance won't pay for colonoscpy/endoscopy the same day...then the last week of April I have the pre-op meeting which is all day in Miami. I realize that I chose the surgeon in Miami...I'm not really complaining about that as much as just being so tired of all of this consumption of my time... the surgeon also ordered physical therapy 3 times a week for 8 weeks; but medicaid hasn't approved it... I was born with my left leg weaker than my right so she wants me to strengthen it I realize it's all the jumping through the hoops to reach the goal of the surgery...but I feel bombarded right now.. Just needed to vent... Thanks I know you all have been there.

Talking about it will help. Keep on jumping it will be worth the effort. Wishing you much success on your journey. Kirsten

Andrea - I'm so sorry that you've gone through so much!...I only had to do a stress test and write a letter explaining the risks. Guess I lucked out on that one. Though now I'm working to find a therapist I wish I had had the psych eval at least shortly after surgery. It's not about body image - but I've had other issues to deal with that I would have run to food before and now can not. Hopefully you'll get through all this soon and can begin that real journey to a better healthier life.

Phew... I know what you mean! I have had a longer period than some (3 months while I do a pre-op thing for my insurance). So I have spread my blood test, lab work, upper GI, Psych clearance, and other stuff out over this time. And it seems like I am at some Doctor or lab every week. I have my last one (I HOPE!) at the cardiologist for cardiac clearance for surgery coming up. My Doctor should be finally filing the insurance next week! YEAH!!! (This has been one long 3 months!) I know you are sick of the tests too. It sounds like you may have had more than I due to other health issues. I hope you get to see a light at the end of the testing tunnel soon!!! Linda
