OT: Terri Shiavo had passed away
No matter what her wishes were, and I don't know that we will truly ever know, she is at peace with her mind and body now. I pray for the Schindlers and for the Schiavos, this journey has not been easy for any of them. I hope the surviving friends and family can find comfort in the coming days that will be filled with so much sorrow. I hope the media can give the families some peace and quiet and be respectful of the fact a woman -- a wife, a sister and a daughter -- they all loved so much has died.
You are so right.........it's a lesson learned about being prepared. My grandmother (who lived to be 96, by the way) had a living will where she specifically said that she did not want the insertion of a feeding tube. She made certain that her five children knew about it, too. She figured they wouldn't have to worry about discontinuing something that she insisted not be started. She was a wise lady.
My prayers are with these families and families everywhere that are confronted with these cir****tances.
