Theme Park fun
I guess one of the perks of living in FL is having access to all these theme parks. The last time I had been to one was like 4 years ago to Disney World. I had gone with my teen-age daughter and her friends. They all took turns pushing me in my wheelchair. I did not enjoy the park from my butt level view of everyone but I endured. Well I am 2 years post-op WLS and Friday went to my first theme park in a long time. A friend had free tickets to Islands of Adventure and invited me on the excursion. We stood in extremely long lines but I enjoyed every minute of it. I enjoyed the fact that I could walk to each ride and never once got fatigued. The only time we sat all day was to eat a snack and have a drink. I was concerned that I would be exhausted having to get up and go to work Saturday morning and once again be on my feet all day but I was just fine. Got up bright eyed and bushy tailed and did just fine. Thank God for WLS!
Happy Easter,

Despite my previous 280 lbs when I went to the theme parks - I was so excited that I didn't get really tired walking around - my fear was always fitting in the seats and/or being turned away cause I couldn't fit. Usually it was a tight fit but it was uncomfortable - now that I have my free pass again I plan on going - and am feeling excited that I will be fitting comfortably on all the rids. I agree with you it's a GREAT feeling.
We went on Good Friday and it was really packed. Most rides were 90 minute wait times. The sky was overcast so we chose not to ride the water rides. I tend to be chilly any way so I did not want to be walking around soaking wet. Someone said that it cost $80 per person to get in. I thought that was really high. We had free tickets and by-passed all of that. IMHO if I was going to spend that much money I would prefer The Magic Kingdom where I think you get more bang for your buck. I of A was way too much shopping. Lots of stuff crammed into a small space. Nothing but t-shirt stores etc shoved in between rides. Funny things was that you did not see many people actually shopping.
