Hello All, My surgery date is 3/24/05, next Thursday with Dr. Overcash. I was wondering which bra did you prefer after surgery especially coming home because of the incision. I am a sports bra fanatic, but I am willing to wear a regular one if that will be less painful on my incision. I get a lot of information and inspiration from you guys on this site. Thanks

I had surgery on Monday and when I came home I opted to wear a sports bra. It was very comfortable to me and I had an hour and a half trip home. Hugs Kim

Tiana, I didn't wear a bra for the first few days after surgery, I wore loose fitting tops since I wasnt doing too much out so it didnt really matter. I think that the worst issue I had initially was my underwire catching on the top of the incision when I was sitting down or getting up, so I would suggest wearing a soft cup in a comfortable fabric. Personally, I dont think it would matter whether it was a sports bra or a regular bra. Good luck! Amy

I came home two days ago and recommend a front closing sports bra. Best wishes and much success on your surgery and recovery.

I took my bra off in the car on the way home from the hospital...1 1/2 hour drive for me was too painful. I did wear a sports bra when I had too til I got my staples taken out. Tracey

Just as Amy B., I wore tops with a little support in them, could not stand the bras... But I think the bra is going to be the least of your worries, we are all so different, good luck to ya! Vivi

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll wear my regular sports bra there and if it hurts when it's time to leave I'll just take it off. I too have an 1 1/2-2hr drive home.

Hello Tina. I havent' been thru the surgery but Avenue sells a tank top with a shelf bra inside and I can't tell you how comfortable these are. They are also all cotton so there if very little to no irritation for sensitive skin. They are part of the Avenue body collection. I swear by them and have dozens. Good luck in surgery!

Don't they have the sports bra that hooks in the front? I think that would be easier as opposed to fighting with getting the bra on after surgery.
