I have been following the case and I truly have been touched by the horrible things that have been happening to children in FL. Does anyone remember a little girl that was murdered by her own father about 4.5 years ago in Lake County? I believe her name was Keyla McKeen. They ended up passing a law in her name and the FL. Department of Families and Children was (yeah right!) revamped after the crime was unvailed. It is as if every once in a while crimes involving children come up in FL. It is said, the reason is because there are too many ways to get away with such crimes around here. Makes me wonder what could common citizens do, to bring FL up to acceptable standards. Going back to Jessica's case. I heard, w/ tears in my eyes, her father on TV asking all parent to make sure you get that hug and kiss from your kid every day, tell them you love them every day! Do your best to keep them safe and secure. Coward predators are out there every day and they are looking for that moment when we turn our backs... Today I stoped cleanning my house, and sat by the driveway as my child rode her bike w/ her friends. For hours I had my eyes on her and my heart and thoughts w/ every mother and father who have missing children. Yes, this case has touched us all, even the sherif, who's probably seen it all, alsmot lost it during a press release this morning, when he called the killer a piece of trash and said he hoped for the death penalty. I agree w/ him, the penalty for any crime involving a child should be no short of extreme. Just my 2 cents... Vivi

There must be something more we as a society can do about the problem of sexual predators. Registration is not working. I realize it is a complicated issue. But it is so horrific.

I vote for castration...oh but that would be inhumane ...i fogot. But wait... we are starving a woman to death as I type aren't we? And isn't she a pure innocent, sweet soul? Hmmm..I'm confused. Sally

Castration is too good for the likes of a pedophile.

Castration sounds really good, unfortunetly, I it would not work... See, they tried chemical castration (around 1996) and it didn't take... Actually, the law did not stay in place for more than 6 months!! If I remember it well, chemical castration only keeps the predator from getting an erection (sorry for being crude), but the "spsycho" still had his hands and other "creative" ways to molest a child!!! The reason why it did not work is because the biggest sexual organ in the human body is the brain, not the "privates", so if castration is the option, we are better off giving this people a lobotomy!! Well, I also believe that if judges stoped releasing molestors from prison, a big chunk of the problerm would disapear! Jessica's predator got 10 years in prison and was released 2 years later for GOOD BEHAVIOUR!! OH C'MON, THERE ARE NO CHILDREN IN PRISON, OF COURSE HE IS GONNA BEHAVE!!! Stuff like that drives me nuts! Vivi...

Well, speaking of little Jessica, I think the answer with what to do with that coward, Johnny, is to give him about 5 minutes alone with the dad and granddaddy and I betcha we here in Florida could save some of our valuable tax dollars. What a cowardly subhuman to prey on those that are the weakest. And ranting back on Terri again, isn't it ironic that Scott Peterson gets an automatic federal appeal but Terri has to have a special law written so she can. Un-be-liev-a-ble

You are right again Steve!!!! Johny should be glad the police found him first!! If something ever happened to my little one, and I got a hold of the guy, he would end up gator food!! We are in FL, aren't we?!! lol As for Terri, I still have faith she will be turned over to her parents. We have to have faith, and pray for her and her family! Vivi
