Dizzy?

Hey all! I was just wondering if anyone else got dizzy or lightheaded once in awhile post op. My surgery was 2/11 and once every other day or so I get a little dizzy or lightheaded if I stand to quickly. Especially if I am watching a movie laying down or something, I stand and I'm dizzy. It only lasts for a few seconds, but hey-is that normal? I am getting in all my vitamins and protein, and am working my way up on the water. I have a check up with my surgeon tomorrow, and I'll mention it. I was just curious if anyone else got this? Thanks! -Phoenix

i was pretty dizzy for a few weeks after surgery... so to me it was normal... other people told me it was normal... make sure ya get ya water in and get ya bloodwork done xoxo

I was told you body is doing a lot of adjustments, especially right after surgery. Dizzy and being light headed is not uncommon. Your body is having to adjust to little to no sugar, plus it might be a bloodpressue issue. I also got the shakes for a couple of weeks. The nutrionist advised me my body was afraid I was starving it. It settled down after a few weeks. Hang in there.

Hello Phoenix, that was happening to me and it turned out that I was anemic 1.5 months post-op. So you may want to check w/ your doctor. Ever since I have been on Iron therapy I have not experienced it. Good Luck. Mayra

I still get dizzy sometimes when I get up too fast. My surgeon said it was our bodies adjusting to the weight loss. Our fluid levels pumping through our bodies are different now, so it takes it a few minutes to adjust if we move too fast. It happens less often over time. Hugs, Erika L
