My latest lab results

I just got my mail and my latest results look pretty good. Iron, folate and B12 were fabulous, my total cholesterol was only 108, good cholesterol was low (37, normal is 40) so they want me to start Omega 3 (fishoil) 4000mg/day. I do need to have a couple other tests done that came back contaminated/inconclusive for some reason, but I am happy with the results so far. My normal daily vitamin regime is 3 Flinstone chewables, 3 Viactiv and 1 B12 sublingual. Not too shabby for not paying big bucks or not taking calcium citrate ~to each his own! Take care, Amy

My new WLS told me to take 1200mg of Tums for calcium and she is pretty well versed in WLS. I also make sure I get calcium in my food also. I'm still too heavy for the bone density table. I inquired about an arm test, but was told they didn't do those and I would just have to wait until I am under 300...which I'm starting to think will never happen...or at least not for a while. I had a bunch of labs run in December but have not seen the surgeon since, so I do not know the results. I am probably going to have my PCP run some just to see what's going on with what's been happening lately. I did have some hemotology tests run and my hemagloblin was 13.3....my h has NEVER been that high...ever...even before surgery.

Glad to hear about your good test results. I am now taking that fish oil, too. I bought mine at Target. I forget how much it costs. It's a HUGE pill, though. But it slides down pretty easy. Take Care, Amy Nolen

OMG this reminds me of what my mom always used to tell me... "You're greatgrandmother took cod liver pills every morning and lived to be 97." Not sure what genes got skipped but my grandmother died at an early age, of course knowing what I now know about lipedema...I'd bet my grandmother had it and that contributed to her weight which led to diabetes, etc.

Alexa, check in your local pharmacy - there is an iron pill called Slow FE (FE is abreviated for Iron). It's a small pill and will go down smoothly - and no bitter tastes at all.
