I have a question. I can barely eat 4 oz in thirty minutes now, but I can drink 12 oz in thirty minutes. Does anyone else have this ability? Am I stretching my pouch drinking to fast? Jenn

Liquid goes right through your pouch into your intestines. Tracey -119

Should be, from what I understand of it. Food slowly leaves your pouch and liquid flows through. Now if your eating and not waiting before you drink a lot, you could stretch your pouch....a few sips with a meal shouldn't hurt you. I personally can drink a ton of water, but in sips. I have gulped water when I forgot I had surgery and it hurt for a few seconds and then I was fine. Tracey

Early post op I had trouble getting in all the water but I could get in a lot of things that classify as liquid (broth, SF jello, SF popsicles, etc) to keep from getting dehydrated. Now, there is always a bottle of water within reach that I sip on throughout the day and night. LuvitsunnyV
