Surgery last Friday.
Hi, I'm Jo's husband, Lance.
Last Monday we drove three hours to Tampa to a hotel for her scheduled surgery on Tuesday. It was a very long drive for me because I kept thinking all the things that could go wrong and how on earth could I ever tell our 5 year old daughter.
Well most of my worry was because I really didn't have any good feelings about the Wish Center. Not because of the doctor, but because of the literature from the company. None of the directions to the facility were correct. I joked with my wife that I hoped that they were better at the surgery than their marketing materials.
Tuesday morning we drove to the hospital and everything was going on as scheduled when the doctor walked in 15 minutes before the surgery was to begin. He said "I have some interesting news".
That interesting news was that the Wish Center had closed it's Tampa office and that the doctor was suddenly unemployed. My wife fought back her tears while I was secretely relieved. It was nothing short of Divine intervention.
To the doctor's credit, he was good and honest. He explained that he could not be there for the aftercare. So we found Doctor Fernandez and now my wife had her surgery and is doing so remarkably well that it is hard to believe that it happened less than a week ago.
I don't think I could say enough about how relieved I was that we found Dr. Fernandez. It is obvious that we were headed down the wrong path with the Wish Center. Their surgery was to last 3 hours and the recovery was going to be long and painfull with heprin shots at home 3x a day for 2 weeks. With the surgery at the Florida Bariatric & Weight Loss Center, Dr. Fernandez was done in 39 minutes! No heprin shots! Its done and she didn't even have a bruise.
She hasn't even had to fill her perscription for pain medication.
The Town & Country Hospital was simply fantastic.
The office worked with our insurance company to switch the procedure from an open surgery thru the Wish Center to a laproscopic thru Dr. Fernandez. His patient account representative, Becky Glover, made everything so easy and worry free. Dr. Fernandez is as skilled as his office is professional. What a blessing it has been!
Oh, good luck Phoenix! Gods speed in your recovery.
