?Question of the day?
Good morning!!
We have several pets in our house. We have a dog, Peaches, that we have had for about 8 years. She is a small dog and is like a part of the family. She runs this house and keeps all her humans in line. When one of us is sick, she is there by the bed waiting for us to feel better. She alerts us to "prowlers" and my hubby has her trained to bark at our daughters boyfriends. She knows when one of the girls are out late and waits for them at the door. She has many times "ratted" on the girls trying to sneak in the house a little past curfew.
We also have a cat, Pickles. She is our older daughter's best companion. When our daughter had her car wreck, Pickles stayed in the bed with her only leaving to "take care of business". She still is close with her now that she is better but is very loving and when L can't sleep from pain, you can be sure that Pickles is there to comfort her.
We also have 7 birds, 2 turtles, 8 hermit crabs and a fish. The music from the birds singing and the time we take caring for the others is relaxing and enjoyable to remember we are the care givers of the animals.
Have a great day.

Last year we lost both of our babies within 6 months. Dude was a toy poodle who was brilliant but a real wimp. He could understand what we were saying and sometimes he understood so well it was spooky. We would give him challenges and 99% of the time he could figure out how to do them. Dude was nine when we found he had cancer that had taken over his lungs and we let him go. Shrug was a miniature poodle and smart but not brilliant. He was 15 yrs old, had cataracs and was hard of hearing but in no pain so just slowly walked around and ruled the house. 6 months after Dude was gone he had what appeared to be a stroke and could not walk. He was in such misery we had to let him go. We are retired and on the go a lot so have not gotten another animal. I told my step grandson in law the vet that if he comes across a teacup poodle to let us know. One that small we could train to hide out when we travel. OOOPS sorry this is so long!!!
When I had my surgery, I had 2 cats. Cherish was 22 and lady 2. I had to put Cherish to sleep this past October due to seizures and age. I really miss her and I got her as a kitten. I agreed to take in Lady who was a stray kitten since I knew Cherish was getting old. Lady now watches over me. If I am in the recliner she is there beside me. During the day, she is Miss Independent and her 2nd name is Trouble.
As far as what she gives me..she gives me kisses.
I actually never had a cat do this before. It is kinda sweet but sometimes when I think where her mouth has been..kinda turns my stomach.
