I'm doing pretty good! About getting full... I'm a little farther out than you (just by a couple of weeks), but it depends on what I eat as to how full I feel. If I eat soup, I can usually eat about 3/4 of a cup in one sitting. If I eat a piece of meat or chicken, I can only hold a piece about 1/2 the size of my thumb in one sitting. When you eat your 1 ounce, is it soup or are you on soft foods?

Be happy you're not getting full! I'm three weeks out and the feeling that I get when I'm "full" is not a good one. My doctor has me eating 1.5 ounces of protein and 1 oz of a fruit or vegtable 3X a day plus 2 protein shakes and 6 oz of yogurt and a fruit. On top of that I have to take about 5 vitamins 3X a day. If I take the vitamins too close to a meal the full feeling happens quickly and it's not good. It is then followed by a massive bleching attach. Be grateful you're not full and do what your doctor tells you to do! That's my humble opinion!

HI Alexa - when I was 3 weeks postop I was taking in 2oz fluids and then eventually graduated. I'm now 4 months post-op and sometimes I can eat more than the prescribed 5oz and sometimes I can even eat less than that. Sometimes I can get full with a grilled salmon fillet or even a cup-a-soup and other times I can eat that and a bit more. But I make sure that I'm paying attn to my stomach and notice the fullness - though if you eat soup and eat fast you'll tend to eat more and then can get a bit sick - which has happened to me.

I am two weeks post-op (lap-band). I am so frustrated too because I feel almost zero restriction. I can eat as much as I want to like before. I am discouraged and have given up on being on a diet. That is why I had the surgery. If I could control myself with portions, I wouldn't have had the surgery! I probably have gained, but I won't weigh myself. I know I haven't lost. I love 5 initially, but I'm sure I've gained it all back. I am doing soft/pureed foods now. I guess I will be this way until I can get a feel, but I'm not happy about this. I never expected that I would feel this way (hungry and discouraged about not losing). If anyone has a solution or can relate, I'd love to here from you and what you did. I cannot believe that I would be the only one that has "cheated" and eaten too early. I am worried about my stitches, but I figured if I would be nauseated if something was wrong. (I have NEVER been nauseated yet). My BMI is 33, probably 34 now! I am guessing that the band is just around my stomach barely touching it and that's why I feel no restriction. Help!!!

from what i have read with the lap band... they put it on just lightly in the begging so it can "scar" in place.. then they tighten it
