looking for support groups in orlando,fla

hi, i recently had bypass surgery(2/1/05). i'm excited and nervous as well in starting this new journey. i live in central florida, orlando to be exact. i would like to get involved in a support group, learn,give,etc. if anybody knows of any such groups and could share with me, it would be sooooooooo appreciated! thanks in advance. rhonda

Hello, I just had mine last month. My Dr has a support group in orlando. I do not think it is just for his patients. It is actually in Lake Mary. The next one, and the first one I will go to, is Feb 15. If you are interested let me know and I will find out the address and give it to you. Jenn

Rhonda, your surgeon has a support group on the last Thursday of the month at West Marion Hospital in Ocala, starting at 6:30 p.m. If you call the office, you can also see if they have any groups in your area. Jan

Jenn and I have the same doctor and the support meetings in Lake Mary are for everyone. There are a few patients from other doctors that attend...it is at the Cingular Building in Lake Mary. Hope to see you next week. Tracey -113

Rhonda, There is a support group meeting tonight (2/09) at Celebration Health in Celebration. Go to usbariatrics.com for more info, this is open to anyone and is a good one to attend. If my car is out of the shop in time, I will be there tonight. Amy

Hi Rhonda, My husband Omar and I both have had WLS and we have a group that usually meets once a month at various locations around Orlando. We will be meeting this month on Saturday the 19th probably about 4 or 5 o'clock. We haven't picked a place yet.
