Someone is DEFINITELY looking out for me!!!!

Hey all! I got the greatest news ever and am going to burst if I don't share it!! First...what happened yesterday: Dr. Murr's office doesn't take self pay right now...so I had to find another surgeon. Then, I find one I feel confident and comfortable with...Dr. Fernandez at Town 'N' Country Hospital. They said they can probably get me in before March. So, then my broker calls me and says that my refinancing would not be going through because my income is not high enough with me and my husband both being full time students...so, sorry he couldn't help me. So, not only did my surgery get cancelled with the Wish Center closing here in Tampa...but now I can't pay for it even if I did have a new surgeon who would operate. Okay...now for the good news: My mother calls me today and actually offered to lend me the money for the surgery!!!!!! I can't believe what an amazing woman she is...that's an awful lot of money, and I feel so lucky! So, I called Dr. Fernandez's office and the woman that works with him, Becky, says she can see what she can do about getting my surgery in soon so that I can still attend the taping of the show. Well...imagine my surprise when Dr. Fernandez himself calls me back and offers to do my surgery on--get this--FEBRUARY 11th!!!!! my original surgery date!!!!!!!! Ahhh! I am so excited...so bottom line: ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR NEXT FRIDAY! I just wanted to thank you all so much for your support and suggestions...I really needed it because I get down pretty easily. Thank you Amy!! I also forgot to mention that my new surgeon is doing my surgery laparoscopically (he starts off that way with all patients). He is very competent and I feel like I will be in good hands. I can't wait to join you on the loser's bench miss thang!! -Phoenix

Oh goodness you didn't get a chance to blink with all that going on but I am sure you're doing a happy dance right now. So I am Tues and you are Friday, that is awesome. I had a similar situation this past summer when my local hospital pulled the plug and had the nerve to tell me it wasn't profitable for them. I took it as a sign that it just wasn't meant for me to have surgery there and with that doctor. I've had to travel to Tampa several times but I am very comfortable with my doctor, staff and hospital and I am sure you will be in good hands also.

Thanks everybody for your support and prayers!!!!! Sarah, the show I went on is the Larry Elder Show, it airs on ABC M-F at 10am here in Tampa. I mentioned it a while back, but I don't mind refreshing for ya!! We taped one half of the segment with me and 3 other pre-ops back on 1/6/05, and when they went to commercial, Larry Elder told the audience and the cameras that when we returned we will have "fast forwarded" 4 months to see what we look like a few months after surgery. So, in May I will be flying back out to LA to finish taping the segment, and I believe it will be airing in May. I will let everyone know though. And again, Thanks to EVERYONE for replying!! -Phoenix
