Trying to sort out the Lap Band info overload...

Ok not sure where to start...... I live in a small town and of course there are no bariatric surgeons who do the lap band ANYWHERE close to me. So i started hunting in areas where we have friends to help easy the stress on my hubby IF i get the surgery....ANYHOW....I have looked at several sites, read lots of info, and now I am confused!! Some sites say 100lbs or more, plus lots of other qualifying things...some sites say 65lbs. or more....SOMEONE please tell me which one it is?? One last thing does anyone know if BC/BS Blue Choice covers this? Thanks, M

Maddie go to the Lapband Forum for more people who know about lap band surgery. Don't leave here for good but they should help some over there. At the home page on the left you see Forum types---click on the arrow and choose lapband. You will need to check on your insurance because most do not cover lap band. It is called investigational. I was planning to have lap band (self pay)by Dr Jawad in Ocala but got canceled because of a health problem.

Maddie, I had RNY, BUT my surgeon does do the lap band procedure but I do not know what his requirements are. His website is surgicalweightcontrol.com (Dr. Vaughan). He is located in Jupiter, FL which is about 80 miles from you. He is a wonderful man and surgeon. Take care Terese
