Having hernia repiar
Ther hernia is from mu WLS incision. About a week out from surgery I was feeling so good that I totally overdid everything. Was moving furniture, painting doors, tiled the floor on my back porch. I guess I overlooked or chose not to comprehend the warning about not lifting anything. That was March 2003. On Thanksgiving Day that year I had my first really huge meal. Ate way too much food. Went out for a walk and when I undressed for bed that night realized I had something poking out under the skin on my tummy area. At first I thought maybe I went and swallowed that little popper upper thing on the turkey and this was the way for my body telling me that "I was done". I went to see the doctor a week later and he told me it was a hernia. It was small and no rush to have it fixed. Last July I was all scheduled for surgery and had recently started a new medication. The meds threw off my heart rhythm and I started having problems. Needless to say surgery was cancelled. I went off the crazy med and was fine. So, now we are really gonna do it. This past summer I also started working part-time. I work at the new Super Target in Viera. I helped with the store set up. Was lifting heavy shelved and merchandise and now my hernia resembles an alien protruding from my tummy. It is now the size of a grapefruit. Just a little background.

Thanks to Hurricane Charlie.....and Frances.....and Jeanne coming through right after my surgery, I have a hernia too!!! Let me know how it goes, ok? You will be in my prayers!!!
I'm hoping mine will wait until a TT is in order. I'm just curious how to go about getting the insurance on board for some of this??? They wouldn't budge for the WLS. Hope you are not having this problem!!!
I did not even bother going for the TT at this time since my surgeon charges $3000 above and beyond anything at all that the insurance would pay and I did not have the money. I looked into waiting on the hernia until I can afford a TT and boobs but PS's don't do hernias. So I am taking one step at a time. I am planning a huge career change and hoping to be able to afford PS in the future.
