Hello, I am scheduled for WLS in Davenport, FL next month. I am having the Mini Gastric Bypass, pioneered by Dr. Robert Rutledge out of NC. I have done a lot of research over the last year and I was wondering what other member thoughts might be. I have looked through many of your recent posts, but I have not come across anyone else that has had the MGB. Any pros or cons you can think of. I am very excited, but want to make sure I am choosing the procedure that is right for me. thx, Cora

Cora,
The only thing I've "heard" about the mini gastric bypass is what I read in several books. In the books I read, they said the mini gb was not a very successful procedure for long-term weight loss and was no longer done by most doctors.
I don't know if that is very helpful to you, but that is what I found in my research. Good luck in your journey.

Cora,
I didnt see your post on the main board because I dont go there often due to the negativity that flows there more than I feel is necessary. I dont know much about the mini GB, but I would agree to continue your research and proceed if you have peace in your heart about it all.
Good luck to you and I hope you will stay on the Florida board, we are a lot more friendly here
!
Amy
