Hi I'm new
Hi I'm new her a friend who had bypass surgery recommended this site. I am 100 pounds overweight and I'm considering getting the surgery done and I would love to hear from all of you the good with the bad. I really need some help. I'm tired of being fat and I've tried everything from atkins to weigh****chers. I lose a few pounds then I stop losing all together and so just when I get motivated and excited that this time I'm going to lose it on my own I deflate. I know the surgery is not the easy way out but I think it may help me learn how to eat and take care of myself and my body. I'm 32 and I don't want to die. I've been overweight my whole life. I just don't know what to do I'm miserable

Welcome Michelle,
This board is a great place to exchange information about WLS, and to get support. Be it you are going to have surgery or not!
We all try to do out best, as far as supporting other members, answering questions timely and being nice ALL THE TIME!!!!
Congratulations on making the decision to have WLS. That, in itself is a great accomplishment. It taken guts!! hehehe Get it? "guts"!!!
Anyway, sometimes it is hard to see the things we need to do in life. I am 30 years old and I am 5.5 months out. I started out 100 lbs overweight w/ no comorbities and I am now 40 pounds from goal. I'm a slow loser, but I am "ok" with it.
I hate to see anyone miserable, because I know how it feels, as 5.5 months ago I was in those shoes. My life is completely different, I am a new person now, and want to shout it to the world! You will too!
Ask any questions you wnat! And trust me, we all know how to complain about everything, so you will hear the good AND the bad!!
At this point, are you researching the surgery, or are you already getting your ducks in a row to have the procedure?
Welcome to the FL board!

Welcome Michelle,
You'll find lots of friendly, helpful & informative folks in this group. I'm having a Laproscopic RNY gastic bypass on Tuesday so I've just been where you are now. You've got lots research and soul searching ahead of you but you'll find the path that is right for you.
The "Your Journey" section at the top of this page is full of helpful information and well worth the time to read. And of course, we'll try to answer any questions you might have, too. Good luck on your journey!

Hi Michelle,
I'm kinda new to the site also but the people are very helpful and friendly here. I had my surgery 10 days ago and doing very good. I have already lost 15 lb. I researched this procedure for 2 years. I talked with several people that had the surgery also. I know how it is to feel miserable. For the first time I finally feel good. I know I have not lost much yet but I can feel it and I know this was the write decision for me.
My advice is to do a lot of research. I wish you the best of luck.
Stephanie
