Hello All,
First let me thank all of your for your replies, they have really helped me. I do have other questions, that hopefully you all will not mind answering. My doctor gave me the green light to start on solid foods. But i am really scared. the toher night i tried eating chopeed pieces of chicken, and they lasted all od 1 minute in my system and came back up. To the point that i am very afraid of solid foods. The only thing that i can eat without a problem are non-salted crackers they seem to stay down and fill me up without a problem.
Can anyone help me with some suggestions.....
Thanks,

Chili, refried beans, meatloaf etc are easier to start for "solids" in my opinion. I still have a little problem with chicken and I was a big fan of it preop. I have found that the moister meat is easier for me. Gravy or sauces help me get meat down. Eating just a piece of meat was very hard for me. I threw up some so I was nervous about solid food. You just have to be patient. Sometimes it will stay down and some times not. There is no way to know at times. Just try to relax and eat small amounts. Then if it stays down, try a few more bites and chew chew chew. It will get better. Really it will
Good luck.
Carol
I completely agree with Carol. Start with softer meats and make sure they are slippery, not dry. Chicken was one of the last ones for me to be able to tolerate and even 7.5 months out, I still have my moments with it. Chili, corned beef hash, tuna, eggs, ground beef, tender pot roast, etc might be some better options to start with. Good luck!
