Surgery postponned very disappointed
Kirsten,
I'm so sorry you've had to postpone your surgery. But I'm sure you want to be in "fighting" form when you do have it so you can recover more quickly. Although I know you're disappointed, I think your doctor is being very wise.
I saw my surgeon on Monday for my pre-op consultation. His nurse told me they'd probably be able to schedule my surgery fairly quickly, maybe even next week, since so many insurance companies no longer cover wls. When I spoke to the surgeon I told him that I had an appointment with an endodontist the next day b/c I had a tooth that just didn't feel right & I might need a root canal. He told me to get that taken care of first, before the surgery, just to be on the safe side. I got lucky, the endodontist had a cancellation for today so I was able to have the root canal this morning. When he got into the tooth he said it was badly inflamed and that an abcess was "right around the corner". I'm soooo glad I was already looking into doing something about that tooth and that my surgeon also felt it was important to get it taken care of before surgery. I'm sure it would be awful to be trying to recover from wls and fighting off a major infection at the same time.
So have that CT scan tomorrow, find out where that infection is coming from and get it taken care of. Then you'll have a clean bill of health and be ready to begin your new life as a "loser"!! My surgery is scheduled for 1/25 and if I get there before you, I'll save you a seat on the "loser's bench"!!

You have to trust that everything does happen for a reason. You are luky that they caught the fact that there is a problem as minor as it might be. Not to scare you but this is a major surgery and you want to go into it with all your guns loaded. It will all work out and you will do fine. Just remember they have your best interest at heart.
