I just went to my doctor on the 21st..he asked me how many meals per day..I said 2-4 meals that are 3-5 oz. He then asked any snacks..I said nope, he asked if I was doing shakes I said nope...he said good job. I personally can't do bread at all, I can't eat a whole egg, I only eat 1/2 of a small chili at a time. I hardly ever consume carbs...I watch that like a hawk.

Hi tracey, I don't eat the whole chilli either, I actually strain it, to get rid of most of the liquids... I was told no liquids duriog meals, and I find that Wendi's chilli is at least 50% liquid...
I tend to get really hungry withing 2 to 3 hrs of eating... so I feel as if I have to have snacks...

That is a good idea about straining it..I usually get rid of some the liquid. I know we are told to eat every 2 to 3 hours, I personally can't do it or I just plain forget to eat...I am still not feeling hungry. Right now I am just making sure I get my vitamins and stuff in...oh and my protien. I wish I could help ya...most Dr's give different info, even different info to different patients. When my Dr. said a couple months ago I should start eating 5 oz at a time...I laughed at him. I still can't do it, and I am for sure not going to pu**** in.

I slowed down once when I started eating a lot of fruit. I missed fruit so much during my first few months so I started eating it everyday at lunch with some cheese. But it does have natural sugar so I think that hurt me. I would tweak your diet just a little, add some veggies and nix the fruit for a few days and see what happens. The portions seem fine to me, I also think starting your exercise program will help jumpstart your system again. How is your water intake???????
It is a huge contradiction between surgeons about how often we should eat. Personally I think I need to eat every few hours or my body thinks I'm starving it. I tried to eat just three meals/day and I was stuck for two weeks, I went back to three meals and two small snacks and started losing again. I know my surgeon worries that snacks can lead to grazing, but I am very calculated in my choices and portions, so I am not worrying about it.

Honey....I think that you are getting a little too keyed up here....
Let's remember...we are trying to learn how to eat for the rest of our lives....we are no longer on a diet. Now..with that said. You need more dense protein....that will keep you fuller longer......how about some sliced roast beef? I don't think you are eating too much or too often. My Surgeon suggests 6 mini meals a day, that's what I have done from the start.
Let me give you a typical day of eating for me.
B- lite english muffin w/1 slice of lite swiss
s- 3 slices lite swiss w/7 harvest crisp crackers
L- small 200 calorie lean cuisine
s- protein bar or some sf pudding or some fake crabmeat w/lite mayo
d- small portion of whatever I cook
s- sf icecream bar and a sf cookie
I have been eating the same amount now for about 6 months.
I do also have the spoon of peanut butter here and there. The important thing is to get in your protein, do some sort of activity and stay away from too much crap food. This is what worked for me...
Hope all is well chickie...
