Need Understanding PCP in Ocala

I hope I've posted this in the correct forum. I couldn't remember my sign-in, but used my name, and it took. I have been going round and round with this WLS - I am about to scream, or remove handfulls of my hair. A year ago, my pc doctor took months deciding what to write for my letter (he never did get it finished) and my insurance was stopped on Jan 4, 04. I now only have medicare. Don't know if there is any chance of getting approved through them, but my problem is I want a new doctor for PC. My previous doctor was not supportive, he is large himself, and he just thinks this is all crazy and foolish. I'm ready to punch him in the nose! Do any of you have any suggestions for a local doctor in the Lady Lake or Ocala area that is receptive to helping you with WLS needs? Many thanks, and please re-direct me if I am in the wrong area. You could call your surgeon and ask his office if they have some suggestions for you. Who is your surgeon? You don't have him listed on your profile. Jan

Oops, sorry about that. I talked with Dr. Jawad's office last year. Had all my pre-op tests done, psych eval, etc., and then couldn't get my PCP letter. I'll call them tomorrow and see if they will recommend someone. Let me see if I can update my profile, I should be able to figure that out!! Thanks!

You may want to double check with Dr. Jawad's office...Unfortunately when I was there for my pre-op appointment they were not accepting Medicare...Hope I'm wrong but be sure to check. Much luck and many blessings on your journey.

Hi Karen, I don't know if she accepts medicare but, I loved my PCP in Ocala - Dr. Patricia Jones. And she is located right next door to Dr. Jawad's. She is very thorough and caring, and I am forever greatful to her for pushing me to get this surgery. Good luck! Dru

Thank you Dru, sounds like she is the ticket. I think I'm going to second mortgage my house and get this done. Maybe I could even go back to work if I can get myself in decent health again. Many thanks!!

Honestly, I wrote the letter for my PCP. I didn't say here is the letter, sign it. I just said, I am not sure if you have ever written one of these before so here is a sample. She decided that the letter I had written was appropriate and decided to sign that one. There are samples on some of the web sites.
