New Tampa Bay OH WLS Support Group

I would like to announce the starting of an ObesityHelp-sanctioned WLS support group for the Tampa Bay area. The group is open to WLS people of all surgeons at any stage in the process, pre-op or post-op, as well as their family and/or other support members. The first meeting is being held on Saturday, January 22, from 1-3 PM. This gives you plenty of time to recover from the holidays and spread the word to as many of your WLS friends in advance as possible! The first meeting will be held at Crosstown Community Church--10130 Causeway Blvd., Tampa. This is at the corner of Falkenburg Rd. and Causeway Blvd. near Brandon, very convenient to the Crosstown Expressway and I-75. One of the topics for discussion at the first meeting will be reaching a consensus on the most convenient meeting time and day of the week for everyone involved from the choices available. Beverages will be provided at this meeting, and you are welcome to bring a WLS-friendly dish to share for a social gathering after the meeting; participation is not mandatory. I will also be taking a monetary collection at the meeting, as the meeting space is rented from the church; please bring a few dollars to contribute to this cause! Your donation is greatly appreciated, as I am putting forth the fee for the first meeting. Some other questions I might be able to answer right now: Childcare is not currently available; however, if there is a great need for this service among many parents that may be attending, please e-mail me directly so I have an idea of how urgent the need is, and if necessary we can discuss options at the meeting for the future. There is plenty of free parking, located close to where we will be meeting. If needed, there is an elevator to the second floor where our meeting room is located, and the chairs are armless--I checked!
