Anyone with BCBS of Florida.

Hi everyone, I am from Texas. I work for Hughes Supply and I will have BCBS of Florida starting Jan. 1. Has anyone dealt with BCBS of Florida? I'm trying to find out how strict they are and if people have had any problems getting approved through them. Any help or info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I do not have BCBS of Florida but there have several posts on this board about BIG changes in coverage for WLS. From what I gather BCBS of Florida will not be covering WLS after the first of the year. I would talk to your HR person and call your insurance carrier to find out if this change effects you since you do not live in Florida.

I have it. As of Jan they WILL NOT COVER WLS.

Hi Lisa, I just read your profile and all you have gone through. I am sorry that you now have BCBS of Florida. I pushed my date to January 11, 2005 in order to allow all the BCBS to get theirs before the end of the year....By now you know that they are not covering WLS after 1/05....I will pray for you that if this door shuts a window will open...Blessings in the New Year.
