HELP! My upper arms are hideous
I have accepted the fact that I will most likely be having a TT after I reach goal, but I cant bring myself to consider arm surgery right now. I am walking 3 miles/day and feel great, my legs and butt are toning up more (still have LONG way to go), but what exercises do you do to help with upper arms? I know I can't correct the problem solely thru exercise and I will have to accept that there will be some loose skin, but surely I can help it look better in some way.
Please advise
!

Good morning Amy! I have already got the "bat wings" now. Seems I have lost lots in my arms. I have started trying an exercise I have seen. I have a weight bench so I use it.(Chair would work I think). Put left knee and hand on bench. Hold weight ( am using 5#) in right hand. Bend right elbow to waist. Then straighten out right arm , which should then have weight next to hip. I do this 10 times then switch arms. As many sets as you want to start. I would be eager to see anyone elses exercises also. I would like not having any PS but I don't want skin hanging off me.
Maybe someone else has a better answer.
Have a great day.

Hi AMy-
I do not know about the exercises --but there was a story on the news several months ago about a Dr. in Orlando that was doing the arm surgery with leaving a long scar. Here is the link to the story (just add the http://www.)

Sit on the floor with your back towards the front of the couch, grab the couch with the palms of your hands and try lifting your body, it will be really hard in the beggining, so do not get frustrated!
It is the best thing for "BAT_ ARMS" so says my personal trainer!
Here is her website, she has all kinds of tips on it! Her name is Diane and she is great!

Two folks have already taken my exercise suggestions but if I could toss in one more comment. I recently saw someone who had their arms done and I don't know, I think I'd rather have the "bat arms" than those hideous LARGE scars running down my arm.
I guess you'd have to weigh your options but try what you can with the exercise first.
Good Luck,
Danielle

Thanks so much, Charlotte. I saved the article for future reference. I know there is a surgery where the scar is long and had heard about the other one that Dr. Albert performs. I just wonder if that one would be performed on someone who lost over 200lbs since it seems to be primarily lipo. I dont think I'll know until I reach goal and can't stand my arms flapping in the breeze anymore what a surgeon will say. My only hope at this point is the elasticity of my skin, age and genes. Thanks again.
ok everyone, read this thread, there are pics at the end of it.... https://www.makemeheal.com/forum/viewThread.jsp?forum=33&thread=13472
