Question Of The Day (for Amy)
Since I'm up and checking the board and I know that Amy is taking this week off, I thought I'd give the question of the day a try.
So here's my question. What, if anything, did you do on Christmas Eve in anticipation of Santa coming?
We wrote a letter of what we wanted and left out cookies and milk. Santa would always drink the milk and eat the cookies, leaving just a few crumbs! And he was NEVER caught by us kids!

Cookies and milk also. I think my "cute" story was when I just turned 9, I kept waking my oldest brother up to show him the shadow of santa and his raindeers on our roof. It was a full moon and I woke him up about 10 times, finally he gave me the big news. Yep, he told me on Christmas Eve. Oh the things we remember from our youth.
Jan, thanks for the question. Its nice to think back.

We always left cookies and milk. Like you, Jan, he always left a few crumbs. We never saw him but we still watch.
When my daughters were about 5-6 they were having their doubts. That was the year Santa must have snagged his suit on our cookie and milk table because Christmas morning there was just a small piece of red fuzz from his suit. The girls were so excited. They kept that fuzz and put it their scrapbook. It is their PROOF that Santa came to their home.
We still put out cookies and milk. (the girls are 17 &18) The milk is Lactaid and the cookies are SF, since they figure he may be watching his weight at his age.
Good question, Jan. Made me smile this morning.
Happy Holidays.
Carol
Well since I was little girl, we have always celebrated christmas on christmas eve night. My dad would read the christmas story from the Bible and we would act out the story. (I have 2 sisters and 1 brother) Then he and my brother would play their guitars and we would sing a bunch of carols. Of course all of this followed the traditonal Christmas eve dinner of clam chowder, oyster stew and loads of sweets ...homemade fudge at the top of the list.
We are all grown now and have continued the exact same tradition to this day except all of my kids (3 girls, 1 boy) and my sibblings kids, act out the story. Also, my hubby plays guitar and I play keyboard and our son plays guitar so we ALL join in on the carols!
Merry Christmas all!
Sally
