Just an Update on myself
Hi Everyone:
Well, it has been a month and a few days since my surgery. Had my surgery on 11/9/04 by the very gifted Jr. Jawad. I feel so blessed. I'm not a fast looser but a steady looser. I was 221.02 lbs. before my surgery and I proudly weighed in today @ my doctor's office a whole 200 lbs. I again must say I feel so blessed that God selected me as someone worthy of this surgery.
I can say I honestly don't walk as much as I should and that's something I'm working on. Building up my stamina.
I seem to be doing well with foods. Dr. Jawad told me to not be so scared to try food so I'm working on that. I had my first glass of orange juice on Saturday because it appeared I was begining to get sick. And guess what it is staying down. I'm so happy about that as I love orange juice. I have also added fish, shrimp and scallops to my food lists. All seem to be ok.
I have that gosh darn G-tube finally gone. Got that out for my birthday present on 12/13. (Birthday was 12/10). I'm 47 years young this year and feel wonderful about my new life. My sugar is undercontrol since the surgery, no more heartburn and my skin is becoming so soft from all the water intake.
Oh, and low and behold BC/BSFL HMO paid every sent they were suppose to. No problems with billing. Thank you GOD for that too.
I wanted to send out a BIG Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with me and help me see the bigger picture. (putting my life and health in Gods hands was the best decision I have ever made). God Bless each of you who helped me in my struggle toward a better, healthier life.
If I can be of any help to anyone please let me know.
I'm here in freezing Jacksonville, Florida wondering when this town is going to realize it's Florida!
God bless all of you.
Marilyn
Well I got my dreaded g tube out today. It didn't hurt coming out buy Sylvia said that i was doing good. I was at 274 on Dr Jawad's scales but at home I was 270.5 so that is what I am claiming. How long did ( Dru & Marilyn) the hole ooze out... I was kinda scared to have the tube out but was suprised that it didn't hurt.

Congrats! I was surprised to hear you are doing well with juice. I am 4 months post op and I haven't tried any juice yet. I was afraid I might dump. I will have to try OJ now, it is one of my favorites

Marilyn,
Congrats on the weight loss! I heard you on that one, I am also from Jax where it was a frosty 25 degrees last night I am also going to Dr. Jawad I have heard great things about him!
