looking for info........

hey there everyone my name is Katrina and i am new to this.. I am currently having trouble finding a surgeon in the zephyrhills/wesley chapel area that will take medicaid(amerigroup) insurance and was wondering if anyone out there would have any news of someone in the surrounding areas. thanks for any information. katrina

There are very few that take Medicaid and those that do have mostly gotten in the quota for the year, but there might be one down south that would consider it. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the surgeon. You may have better luck after the first of the year. Jan

Katrina, Try Dr Cox there are several people that have gone through him. He does accept some of the medicaid HMO's. There are several steps to this and be aware there are up front fees to somethings. I am just telling you this so your not suprised by it. I am working through Vocational Rehab now due to the fact I have medipass and can not go to fort lauderdale to have sx. I know how you feel being a single mom I am one as well I have 2 hildren 12 and 13 and 2 neices living with me 8 and 9. Try calling around with the amerigroup you may get further. Good luck ! Hi Katrina , I also have medicaid...I have the Staywell HMO, but you can call dr murrs in tampa, he accepts medicaid of different types...as the other post was saying there is some up front fees....I am still trying to finish paying off mine so I can go on to the next step....good luck and keep in touch... Katrina, You can try US Bariactrics in Celebration. My aunt has medicaid and she is having her surgery performed by Dr. Kim. I am not sure what type but he is her doctor. Good luck to you in you weight loss journey. Lovetta
