Hi everyone I had my WLS alomst 2 years ago. My mother in law needs to have surgery now. I am trying to do all the research on her insurance first to know what she's up against. United still hasn't sent her her E&L page of the policy. Does anyone out there have UHC Choice Plus? I would love to hear about your experience w/ them. Thanks, Carolyn Miami, FL

I have UHC choice, but I work in a hospital and my policy has an exclusion with an exception ( the exception being you can have the surgury if it is done at my hospital.) What I did to find out if they covered the surgury is I called them. They should tell her exactly what/if they cover and the requirements. They pulled up my policy and read it to me on the phone. I wish her the best.

I have UHC and the surgeon's office handled all of my work after I requested letters from my PCP, my endocrinologist and gastroenterologist. I was approved in 4 days. Blessings, luvitsunnyv@goal

I have Select Plus and my experience with UHC was wonderful. All your mother in law needs to do is call them and ask if the surgery is covered. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. It depends on the tier of insurance coverage her employer chooses to pay for. Good luck to her!
